Amber is an easy going, energetic individual, with a good sense of humor. She also is cunning, manipulative, and ruthless. Amber will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and is not above morally dubious means of achieving her goals. Sexually she enjoys using hypnosis and transformation magic on her partner, when in control. That said, few things turn her on more than getting the table turned on her.

Amber was born a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te to a single mother in Ul'dah. She was abandoned at a young age, and grew up on the streets, where she was taken care of by her half sister. She never received a clan name, and was given the name Amber by her sister. From the age of seven, Amber worked as an errand girl all throughout the city. She assisted the weaver's guild as a bobbin girl, and tested potions for the Alchemist guild — the other guilds wouldn't let here anywhere near. Her sister, in the meantime, turned to retainer work for anyone who would take her. Living in an old abandoned building, they saved up as much as they could. With that money, they convinced a member of the thaumaturge's guild to tutor Amber. She would spend the next four years studying thaumaturgy.At the age of twelve, she received a recommendation to the Studium in Sharlayan, along with financial aid to allow her to travel there and further her training in magic, due to her immense aetheric density (around 30% denser than the average person, and only 30% weaker than the Ancients). At the age of eighteen she graduated from the Studium, writing her thesis on magics of ancient societies, with a primary focus on animate manifestations of aether. Returning to Ul'dah, she was given an offer to join the Black Mage's guild which she accepted readily.She would spend the next five years training as a Black Mage, mixing the arts of Thaumaturgy and Black Magic to devastating effect. Her study was augmented by brief training in Arcanism and Summoning during research trips to The Black Shroud and La Noscea.Amber would become the foremost expert in all things Aether, and in her research made an enormous step. Amber rediscovered the base principles of Creation Magic during her studies. Due to her incomplete soul, as all souls on Etheirys are, she is unable to create life. But, she can create inanimate objects, and modify living objects. This led to an endless cycle of self experimentation, which in turn led to her canine appearance.Sadly, arcane research doesn't pay the bills, and so Amber works as a private alchemist during the day.
